MEET THE LEADERSHIP OF THE HOUSE OF HEALING, DMV INC.
JOSEPH L. BROWN, SENIOR PASTOR, THE HOUSE OF HEALING, DMV INC.
Joseph is a man called to the Kingdom for such a time as this. Born the 22nd of April to Joyce Bush and the late Joseph Brown, he has six siblings, enjoys acting, tennis, reading, writing and laughing. As a child, and through his teenage years, he attended the Church of God of Prophecy under the pastorate of Bishop James C. Bowman. It was there that he established a foundation in the things of God and accepted the Lord into his life at the age of nine. However, it was not until July 17, 1993, that Joseph totally and completely surrendered every area of his life to the guidance of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is a graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar Senior High School in Washington, DC and has completed coursework at The University of Maryland University College. In 1996, he received his Certificate of Biblical Studies from Calvary Bible Institute, which is accredited by the International Christian Accrediting Association.
A former member of Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church (GMCHC) under the shepherding of Archbishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr. and Co-Pastor Susie C. Owens, Joseph served extensively in church ministry and leadership holding such offices as founder and leader of Intercessory Prayer, member and leader of the praise team, member and leader of the Deacon Board, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent and as an instructor for Calvary Bible Institute. He worked closely and administratively with leadership to develop several Men’s Conferences and retreats focused on building the lives of men in his local assembly. Joseph is the former host of a radio broadcast entitled “For Your Thoughts Today” (WFAX 1220am). He believes in reaching souls through whatever medium the Lord avails. In January 1998, Elder Joseph founded Meek Ministries, Inc., a para-ministry geared to making inroads in the community. Through this ministry, Elder Brown hosts a bi-annual Empowerment Summit and conducts monthly Outreach Services at Shelters, Nursing Homes and similar facilities spreading the love and joy of Jesus Christ. His ministry has taken him across the country and to even Nassau, Bahamas.
In October 2014, he joined his life with Elder La-Quisha Guest and together they are most excited about their future and fulfilling their God given assignment. She is the absolute love and joy of his life. Together under the direction of the Lord, they birthed THE HOUSE OF HEALING-DMV on October 15, 2017 their first pastoral work! More recently, Pastor Joseph has led the congregation of the House of Healing to acquire their first set of properties and began services there in February 2019. In closing, Joseph simply loves the Lord and wants to do His will. He realizes his help truly comes from the Lord and without the Lord he would be nothing. Moreover, he realizes it is the grace of God which has given him life, sustained his life and will see him onward to a better life.
LA-QUISHA T. BROWN, CO-PASTOR, THE HOUSE OF HEALING, DMV INC.
La-Quisha was born and raised in a loving Christian home in the suburbs of Maryland. Reared by a gracious grandmother who fervently prayed and studied the Bible, it is not by happenstance La-Quisha is a tenacious seeker of biblical truths. As an adolescent, La-Quisha’s steadfast commitment to Sunday school, and prayer enabled her to harness the power of education. An avid champion of scholastic advancement, La-Quisha has a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Educational Leadership. Whether formally speaking or leading a casual discussion, or offering personal guidance, La-Quisha’s unique blend of wisdom, insight and sensitivity leaves an indelible mark on those she encounters. In autumn of 2014, La-Quisha was honored to marry a distinguished gentleman, a man after God’s heart, Joseph L. Brown. Together with the transforming antidotal power of love, we will encourage, employ and empower people to move from poverty of spirit and despair to hope and promise. La-Quisha finds great joy serving the Lord and is humbled at any opportunities He allows to share the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
